seems every mobile operator in india is going the docomo way..the trend of 1ps per sec has caught up like the jaipur fire..its 69 in airtel, 65 in vodafone and aircel got the cheapest add on with 18 rupees for the next year fully..ask me what is this trying to show? well, think back a few months..we had call rates that wasn’t less than one rupee without rate cutters..even if it was less it would be 99 paise..big deal! and now all of a sudden, everyone is giving add ons as cheap as the addons for firefox ( its free actually ;) ) get my point? so, all these days they have been making one hell of a profit with all of us..now, an opertor comes in and gave 1sec pulse and everyone follow suit..( i wonder, when somethin comes cheap, why is it always from japan, china or korea )..now everyone is turned to the 1sec pulse..the funny thing is they make profit even here..they don wanna give it out for free..so, they charge a small fee for somethin they could give for free..jus like that..but then, there is the old lady..good ‘ol ( or is ol’) BSNL..what are they doing out there?? well, they are busy trying to make money out off the spectrum allocation so that few ppl can ensure the monetary safety of their forthcoming generations..shouldn’t the government provide services in par with the private ones or atleast half of it?? ( i agree, broadband is really good but what bout the rest..) a friend of mine send me a msg askin me where was i then..it reached my mobile when i was with him the next day..talk bout service..guys even comment like at this rate soon the missed calls given in the morning ll reach the other end only in the afternoon..its not a joke..many are just waiting for the number transition plan to get rid of their troubling BSNL network..maybe none wanna use a BSNL number no more..it might soon be happening..its time the government stood up for the people and set things right..rather than making money off it..will they? lets wait and watch..till then, happy calling people.. ;)

engineering times – THE IV 2..pondycherry!

October 25, 2009 at 4:26 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

We called it the IV ( industrial visit) for only one reason that we went in the name of the college..we asked bout this in mid july when college started, we students wanted to go on a IV aka educational “tour” for a few days..our plan was somewhere in the likes of ooty, goa and kerala..we even got permission for that but on one condition..we needed to be back home by the same day and report full attendance in college on the next day..talk bout planning..so, finally pondycherry was decided in september end and the stage was set..as it was pondycherry, guys were talkin bout lotta plans for the one day..then came our schedule for the morning..the bus was to start by 6 from college but it was already 7 and the bus didn’t even move..it was to reach my stop by 0615 ( ha ha..my stop was a good 8kms from my college..15 min travel was kinda like the best joke in class..one guy even said at this speed we can make it to the company by 7 ;) ) we got in by some 730 or so and the bus was to make a few stops on the way..we welcomed the guys coming in each stop by shouting..but no stop was like ashoknagar..few including two girls got in and the whole of the boys crowd shouted one single guy’s name..this is what unity is all bout.. :D everybody started shouting “balaji” at the top of their voice..the shouting continued all day whenever there where references of someone we know who..at a point even our sir joined us in shouting the name..’m sure balaji ll never forget this in his life..narayanan and hemanathan initaited the dancing in the bus and it was party inside after that..even the not willing ones started dancing..we then turned to see if the girls were dancing and we didn’t believe what we saw..i mean, those girls never talked loudly in class and here they were like bang on..anyways we reached the company by afternoon..nothing worth mentioning in there as we all knew the stuff already.. ;) the evening plan was to stop by a sea shore on the way back..we had enough time for that..but somethin came up and the staffs didn’t allow us anywhere close to a beach..the bus stopped near some ground and the other class guys started to play cricket..we guys lazy as usual, sat in the nearby tea shop talking bout how good this trip wpould’ve been if we had done this and that and all..the bus started after a one hour stop..they played a movie and balaji chant started again..one would start it at the back and it wouldn’t stop till all had shouted..at one point balaji himself started shouting balaji..he he..what else could he do..we had a few problems while returning..the second bus had some problem and we needed to stop for an hour or so for em on the way..guys were too tired to dance while returning and we started enjoying the movie..it was a good trip, the enjoyment was confined to the bus though..the pictures and videos ll tell lots..i reached home by 11 and we had model exam next day..wrote somethin for an hour and rested well during the exam.. :) already started planning for the next trip with the guys..this time we ll do it our way..

i_love_my_big_sister_magnet-p147527144806857788qjy4_400
it all started when i went with my friend rakesh to anna university to attend the mba counselling on behalf of my sister :) she was abroad that time..she got seat in anna university for the marks she scored in the entrance..it was for mba in correspondence..she has to attend just a class or two in a month..just when i registered her for anna university, her mom called me and asked me to choose a college near our area, so it ll be easy for her to go..but then i had chose CEG already.. i said her like don worry i ll accompany sister when she got class..i said it for fun then..but didn expect it ll happen..it happened last weekend..i had to attend a seminar in anna university, the same day as her first mba class..so, we decided to go together..i didn expect it ll happen till it did.. ( almost everything i really wish to happen, usually doesn’t :(   but this is an expection :D ) 20 of my class were attending that seminar..i told em like i ll be coming with my sister and meet up at anna univ..they started early..by the time we started, the guys were long gone..we finally took a bus to reach halfway..my frens messaged me asking where was i..i was jus crossing my area then..if i had told em that, i would ve got lotta good words from em ;) ..so,i thought better not to reply..we talked all the way in the bus..or should i say i talked all the way..she was a bit tired from work the day before and was a bit sleepy ( dunno if my talk made her sleep :( ) we reached anna univ right on time..my friends reached nearky an hour early and was waiting for me..i managed without getting any scolds.. ;) the seminar went well for me, i told her ll meet up for lunch..but they served us free lunch at the seminar ( it was good too..we had paid 300 for the day and the certificate ) but had to skip it.. :( for my sis :) i got my lunch and gave it to the guys and went to meet sis..we had lunch in the canteen..she had waited in the looong queue to get lunch for me too.. ( sweet of her :) ) we finished and was to meet after my seminar got over..the afternoon session was too borin..i had to wait for the certificate to be issued..i didn pay 300 bucks for nothing..her class got over an hour b4 mine and she was waiting for me :( ..we decided to take the train back..we got a train the minute we got into the station..we boarded, then a lady police asked me to get down..i asked if it was a ladies compartment but then the whole train for ladies it seems..come on, they even get a train for their own and they still fight for some 33%..i think we guys are the ones who should fight..it was drizzling and the journey was great..guys took the bus..we reached nearly an hour b4 em this time.. ;) it was great being with my sis..( i always wanted a sister in my life and she filled it perfectly..i love calling her as my sis.. :) ) well, a wonderful weekend..no other word to describe it..hope i get to go next time too.. ;) fingers crossed..all upto u yagna akka!

my visit to the iit madras!

September 24, 2009 at 8:33 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , )

Iitm.maingate.logo
i feel bad myself when i say i first went inside the iit campus only in my final year of college.. i haven’t roamed much in that area.. well, i went to the iit few weeks back to meet a friend..i hope he doesn’t mind if i call him my friend..he is senior to me and is a project assistant in there.. it was the first time i was gonna meet him too..i know him through my friend and have talked to him online..there i was, in front of the iit gate dunno which way to take inside..he came to pick me to his department..i have heard ppl say that iit is big, i confirmed it when i went in his bike..i mean, its huge..we talked all the way..it took a good 5 mins by bike just to reach his department..man, this is what i call a college! jus being inside makes us want to study..maybe it was just a first impression but then, i guess it ll grow on us..the meeting was for my final year project..i went to ask his help with that..first, i was worried bout his character..but by the end of the bike journey i understood him pretty much..he talked like we knew each other for some years..in the few things i talked, i understood he was close to my frequency in certain things..we talked all day..it was like, when we finish bout one thing, other automatically follows..meanwhile i ve heard iit got some good looking girls..but none of em was seen in my line of sight :( talking bout kathir..he s just a wonderful guy to move with..he made me feel like he was not a stranger to me in our first visit..it was cool..we roamed around the iit, talked while my eyes wandering to see the beauty of the place..( told ya, no girls crossed us ;) )..the technology in there..i mean,it is just great in there..being in my college for 4 years now, this place felt like a heaven..u know, no one watching ur back always waiting to catch u if do somethin wrong, none to order u every minute to do this and that, scolding u for some pretty silly stuff and most important no dress codes..come on, that is something..no need to buy two sets of dress everytime, one for college and other casual wear.. ( i saw one staff there roaming in shorts..heard he even goes to his class that way..that is freedom :) ) it was already evening and i didn even know how much time had gone..it was time for me to leave..cuz the bus journey back home ll take 2 hours..i was thinking bout comin back to the iit everyday as a student, doing my pg here and all..but heaven too comes at a price..97 above in GATE to start with..lemme see what the future has got for me.. ;)

free sim cards anyone??

August 19, 2009 at 6:56 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

libraryiphone-3g-airtelthey r giving it out like pamplet these days..all u need is a photo and an id..i read a few months back like the government is going to be strict with giving out sim cards following the Mumbai blasts..if they call this strict, what would happen if they were free..worse than urs and my nightmares combined i guess..whats the problem with this u ask..don even get me started..my coll guys have started collecting sim cards as if they are collectibles..many of the guys i know hav a sim card in each and every network available..i still remember the times they sold a lifetime incoming sim card for 1000 rupees and u still hav to a minimum recharge periodically..now, u get the card for free with a few rupees talktime and an activated add on feature for a few months..so, i ask myself..y do ppl want more than one sim card..these are the possible answers i hav heard..
1. to talk to girlfriends/ boyfriends..this always is the top priority..if one network allows 5ps calls between two numbers, other gives it for free..the best one as i heard was idea, free calls from idea to idea for a monthly recharge of 150rs or so..
2. for the free talktime.. this is just for the fun of getting free talk time for a photo and a xerox copy of any id proof..who else would pay us for gettin our photo ;)
3. just for bragging..”hey, i got all the sim cards in the market”..as if he/she ran 100 meters in 9secs or 9.00 secs exactly.. ( now, tats somethin even usain bolt didn’t do till now..i m sure he ll do even tat in the near future.. )
so, why do the companies want to sell sim cards this desperately??  they still think ppl r buying cards out of the interest in the company?? hello..welcome to reality, there are ppl who get anythin that is given out for free..and sim cards are not an exception..if u wanna lure customers, do it by giving offers and affordable add on features..not by free sim..its spoils the name of the company..if its free, its jus one step away from waste..well, apart from softwares that is..( freewares rock ;) )
yeah, i forgot to tell bout the BIG prob with this situation..the one that made me to write this post..the ones havin all the sim cards jus hav one single mobile phone which supports jus one damn sim at a time..they jus swap sim cards and use..tats where the trouble is..we dunno which card they r using at present..hell, they don even know it..in case of emergency, u dunno which no to use to call the person..thank god i save the no with an extention separately..for those who save all the numbers of a contact in a single name, its mayhem..
its time the operators start taking notice of this..before we end up using all the combinations of 10 digit no..wit millions of em in the purses and not in mobiles..

a land of 1000 movies..

June 27, 2009 at 9:57 am (life) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

1373_Indian_Cinema
yeah, m talkin bout my country India..we hav a lotta woods here to make movies..( vry less to make oxygen though.. :( ) there is kollywood, tollywood, malluwood (?), the dominant bollywood and other smaller ones like bhojpuri etc..we ve been making movies for more than 75 yrs and with the exception of a few here and there we can categorize all the movies under one topic..seasonal cliche ( i dunno how to type that end e with a horn with my keyboard..but i know u get the picture.. ) i hav a few doubts bout all the movies..i’m asking it here so that someone would answer me..
first of all, wats with the “wood” in the name?..thr is one place called hollywood where they make english movies, that doesn’t mean all shud end with a wood..
my second question is whats with the seasonal stories?? if one movie is declared a hit a dozen other movies follow suit with the same theme and a small change in script..ah, come on if u wanna copy, copy ur own script..make a sequel of ur own movie..part2 works most of the time, if not take a part3.. ;)
next is, why shud the hero always win?? even if he is a bad guy and kill a dozen people..also tat if one guy in a hero s family dies, its shown as somethin huge and the hero goes to the villian’s lair and challenges him..while doin so he kills a lot of thugs..do they don hav family?? what bout them?? why are the movies always around one guy who is just another normal guy but beats up ten ppl with a single movement..the funny part is a hero worked out and showed six pack abs in a movie which hardly had fight scenes.. ;) i say, if u wanna show a hero beat up everyone make him a superhero..we audience ll accept that..
last question..why is it, if a movie is declared hit in one language, it s remade in another language again with the same dialogus and the same scenes..the original with a subtitle hav pretty much done the job i guess.. :)
anyways thats the way it works and if any1 readin this post knew the anwers for what i asked, do reply cuz there are a whole lot like me with the same thing in mind..
