the time i started writing in my blog i was all fired up. i wanted to write a post a week. sometimes even wrote one on successive days. but now its been a really long time since i posted one.its not like nothing interesting is happening in my life but just that i wasn’t really in the writing mood. the last few months have been one of the best times of my life which i’ll cherish forever. the training in bangalore, getting to know my cousin and his family a lot more and the friends i got there..( i wanted to write about it as it happened but was just a bit lazy, now it will feature in the BEAutiful memories section )

as for me, i started working a month back..120 kilometers of travelling each day and lotta changes around..weekdays go faster with nothing meaningful being done and weekends go off even quicker with nothing done at all..guess i gotta find my way of finding the inner kid and keeping myself smiling, the work is already in progress..lots to write about and those will follow in the successive posts..

by the time i’m writing this, one of my best friends Bala, is waiting in malaysia for his transit flight to newzealand..still can’t believe he left so soon. everything happened way too quickly. most times we guys feel bored, he would have something in his mind which is fun to do even if its just sitting in his terrace and talking stuff..gonna miss ya macha..finish the studying and come back in one piece!!

thanks to the special people who remind me everytime that i have a blog and i have loads to write bout, my best friend preethi reminded me this time.:) and also to madan cuz whenever i see him posting something in his blog i want to start working on my writing too ( never told him this though )..anyways my writing mood is like gravity, all it takes is a little push. Watch this space for more..

It doesn’t get any better than this. It would be better if it did :P

I watched endhiran last weekend. To be honest, I was one of those who were not convinced that they can do good CG in tamil movies even when a big graphics studio was involved. I thought it would be a regular Rajinikanth movie with hero fighting the robot in the climax bare handed and win like it always happens. However things weren’t as I expected. It was a fight between man and machine in a way Indian audience had never seen before. Rajinikanth and underplay are two different worlds but he proved he can be a complete director’s actor and deliver a brilliant performance (unlike few lame actors who just wanna do bigger than life character in every movie even when the audience laugh at those)

The movie is nothing like any other regular tamil movie. There are no punch dialogs for the hero, no colour shirts and awkward scenes. It’s a great looking, technically sound movie. The comedians delivered what was expected of them and the hero delivered his best performance which is mind blowing for a man of his age. When baba came and didn’t do well in BO, people said its time for him to quit. After seeing this, I can say I want him to do few more movies which are logical and closer to real life. We should not waste the actor in rajinikanth.

The CG didn’t disappoint and was better than expectations (at least mine which was very low) coming to Shankar, man he is good. He has delivered a totally Indian movie which is totally cooler than any other Indian movie in terms of style and technology. the dialogs by sujatha (wonder why didn they add ‘late’ to his name in the credits..maybe because he is still alive with us through his works) which were written by him before his death are too good at a few places (will layman be able to understand ‘ip address’ and stuff ?? )..

With the cheers and whistles, I had a feeling like I was in Chennai the whole time the movie was playing that’s rajini for you..the rajini brand has transcended state boundaries this time. Hope they make good use of it.

holds true for me atleast..its the month of friendship day,independence day and ofcourse my birthday which i share with two of my best friends preethi and madan. facebook tells me one of my friend is celebrating b’day almost everyday of the month.

nothing much happening around me to blog bout. everyday seems the same with the hope that tomorrow ll be better i initially started this blog to review movies and music and i’ve strayed long away from it. this month had its ups and ups as far as my life is concerned, having lotta free time for myself lately..bday celebrations were not the usual as always as few of my friends have started working..but i can say this time it was special in its own way..went out with frens for two movies in a single day ( three of em couldn’t make it though if they’d come it would have been great ), slept over at madan’s place and the day was loads of fun..we had planned for somethin like for almost a year now and it didn work out for some reason.. it became a joke between me and my fren..i told my fren “finally, our plan worked mate” and the reply was ” we didn plan mate, thats why it worked” maybe thats right. all thanks to madan to have “planned” the wonderful day!!

madarasapattinam was the second movie i watched that day..i don see much movies and tamil movies are always on the back seat with the line of crappy movies they come out with, but things are changing now..we don have those cliche movie formulas anymore with the exception on vijay movies ( cliche is the word tailor made for him ) but madarasapattinam was rather good..better than what i expected..we were thinkin how to spend the evening and inception evening show was on the cards(i really wanna watch it again), sadly Raki cinemas didn share our like to see the movie which led to madarasapattinam..not the usual freedom struggle theme we would expect from the movie based on that era..a love story which is no different than the earlier ones but still good..a must watch in theatres!! i don understand one thing when i see the movies based on the pre independence era..we see lotta INDIAN policemen beating up our own people just because the english officers order them to. with all due respect, were they that desperate for money and security or were they just happy under whatever shit that came and ruled us?? they had the guns, what was the problem with just turning around and shoot?? i didn live that time and i mean no disrespect!!

oh and the first movie i watched that day, Aisha..just two words.. sonam and amritha puri!! most guys ll agree with me in this..

Inception

Every great movie consists of three parts or acts. The first part is “the trailer”. The director gives you a glimpse of the movie in the trailer and let you to discuss your own versions but probably you wont be right.The second act is “The experience”. The director takes you for a ride in his world, its just an ordinary set of scenes, but when put together takes you out of your world.. now, you ll be looking for flaws, its not human to accept every movie as a great one..but in inception, you won’t find it, because you are not really lookin it as a movie. you are experiencing it, you are living in Nolan’s world. that brings us to the third part, ” the feeling”. the feeling you get after the movie is over. it gets stuck in your head and makes you think of what happened, you try to dissect the movie but you have to understand it first and when you do, you’ll just have one thing to say, “the movie is magic and Christopher Nolan is ‘The Magician’..”

Taking a dialog from his own movie to appreciate him is the best i can do for my favourite director. I watched the movie last night and i still cant get over it. it ll take a few days i guess. this is nolan at his best. i wanted to watch it since the release date was announced. my experience was like the background score from the dark knight when joker tells about his scars..the music starts slow, grows, grows and peaks at the end. i read most of the reviews before the release and it grew on me that i wanted to watch it so bad, and i wasn’t disappointed to the least. i loved it. the cast was just perfect. joseph gordon levitt was ‘perfectly adequate’,ellen page was as usual the ‘intelligent’ and marion cottilard was gorgeous. leo is getting better and better..

the place where eames say “You mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling” tells you that its a dream and you’ll get the stuff you want by just dreaming for it. its not hard to identify between dreams and reality in the movie but if you lose track, you’ll be just wondering “whose dream is it anyway? “..going into the details ll just spoil the fun of watching it..just gotta take in the movie with an open mind and you ll have a lot to think bout for a few days after watching it..i surely wanna watch it again soon..a movie that makes us think, is always a good one..here, nolan has just planted an idea inside the audience and it ll take a while to shake it off..

Don’t ever say i wanna live the dream. It should be more like i wanna dream but live in the reality.

I’m two years into my blogging..it started with the euro’08 and now its fifa wc’10. i never thought i’d blog..hell, i didn know what is a blog until venkat said me he s written bout me in his blog..seein him and guru (those two r my college seniors) i thought bloggin was my kinda thing..then a few posts into it, i got blasted by a fren sayin my writing was childish..well, it was..it is still to an extent i guess..but hey, thats me..anyways nothin much happenin around me these days..everyday seems the same..gettin up late cuz of watchin football the previous night,doing nothing till its game time again and wishing that my best pals shud get jobs in the same city ( namma chennai i.e ) so that we cud meet up atleast once in a week..dunno wt to do after june 11 when the finals r over (i wish spain wud win it)..go el nino!!

Just today i finished reading ‘shantaram’ and i should say it lived upto its expectations..wen my fren said bout giving me this to read the first thing i thought was ‘hey,i saw that name as an upcoming movie by johnny depp in imdb.com’..so i gave it a read and wow..it was great..900 pages seemed like climbing a steep rock at first but then i couldn’t stop reading..(the last big book i read was ‘kane and able’ which i finished just for the sake of starting it)..there is something bout this incidents and the author’s way of telling things that i like so much..u don’t have to make up stories all the time (like harry and twilight which i prefer watchin on screen rather than reading the book)..sometimes the stuff happening around us and the way we write it makes up a brilliant read and shantaram is one of those. it is great as a story and also there is an underlying message that makes us think throughout, lin baba really knows how to write..wish he’d put the pict of ‘prabaker’ with those beautiful eyes..hope they make a good movie out of it too..cant wait to see johnny in that role!!

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS!! CHAMPIONS OF IPL3

yeah!! we won!! the championship is coming home..what a match it was..first it was the big question that will sachin play or not, then it was the big ceremony ( frankly, i didn like anything in it except the performance by the mozart of madras A.R.Rahman..bips looked awful ) the match was interesting no doubt bout it..all the tension, excitement and flashes of genius in dhoni’s captaincy as usual..only flaw (dunno how to put it) was when sachin didn walk out when the umpire didn show him out even when he knew he had hit the ball (?) the replays were clear that it was out..all this fades into pale insignifance in the light of the fact that Chennai won the title and they deserved it..YEAH!! i was on cloud nine watchin the victory..the trophy was like fallin into the hands of mumbai indians but the wicket of keiron pollard made sure the trophy had our names written all over it.. but the presentation ceremony made me feel like crap!! i mean, what the hell were they trying to do?? modi comes in and reads a shitty i didn do anything kinda letter and no representatives for chennai in the presentation party..if this was worse, Mr shastri was readin the names and awards like he was paying homage..that was ipl finals boss, not some funeral place!! yeah, ur sachin (who played through the pain of the stitches and who did everthing to ensure his team wins..even faking his wicket) didn win..so,all should cut a sorry face and not congratulate the winners eh?? where is the bloody sportsmanship?? the crowd just left after the last ball..who came up with the big idea of hosting the finals in mumbai?? loser..at least next time the finals should be hosted by a neutral venue.. to top it all up, the news channels showed modi s firing as a main news and the victory as a marquee underneath it..they showed some group stage matches so big and the finals gets this kinda treatment?? go to hell mates..we don’t need bollywood stars and fancy shit to popularize our team..WE ARE CHENNAI SUPER KINGS AND WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

I’ve just got one question for all of em..if sachin had won yesterday, wud he and his team have got the same treatment??? the answer is a two letter word starting with a N and ending with O..obvious!!

This is not something i wanted to write but i couldn’t avoid.. the world ‘classical’ Tamil conference is just around the corner and i think it was the right time to speak bout this.. everything is going online these days including our hard disks in the name of cloud computing..but what is the state of ‘Tamil’ online?? i’m not an avid reader of Tamil literature, i don wanna comment or point out someone for this problem but since i couldn’t do anything bout it, why not tell it to the world where at least someone could do something bout this.. ah, come on! get to the matter!! right?? open Google.com or Google.co.in whichever opens, select the language as tamil in the page..now type the alphabets one by one in normal keyboard and see what google gives as search suggestions!! ( my friend told this to me as a joke, i laughed and thought he was just kidding until i saw that myself..not the sites, just the google page ) now can u understand what i’m getting to?? if someone outside tamlnadu or someone who is new to tamil see this, what ll be the first thing they’ll think..isn’t there anything other than porn in tamil?? sorry ‘classical’ tamil right?? this is the state of tamil in google search ( doesn’t google show everything in the internet? ) maybe it isn’t anyone’s fault but that doesn’t mean this is right! i came across a site sayin there are millions of sites in tamil but none of them come up in the search suggestion..its time somebody do something bout this except maybe throwing stones at the google headquarters ..with the tamil world conference coming up, tamil ll be searched by most people..hope they don’t search it in tamil!! mella tamil ini saagama irunda seri!!

College got over, they have let us loose and we only have to report for our project reviews and model exams ( which the management conducts for their satisfaction..lame ) so its just all day at home doing nothing..its the same old facebook,music and movies to kill time..i think orkut is becoming obsolete,at least among my friends..my project is still going good and it just got better the last week..hope it continues!!

my mobile is givin me a whole lotta trouble..the key pad is so stuck to the surface like lame movies and vijay tat its becoming impossible to text, which had been a saviour to me these three years to kill time and to be in touch with the ones i care so much for!

HARI SADU is back, is he? there are just three kinda students now, ones who got placed in the first lot and talk as if they didn even want it, the second who prepare lots and try for every chance available, and the third who don give a damn about all this..its not the thing bout placements that worries me, its just the elders who keep asking bout the placements to whichever college student they see..when ll they stop that? sigh!

the best thing tat happened was the song release of Vinnai thaandi varuvaya! Rahman creates magic once again and every song is pretty awesome..hosanna is too good that i even wrote that lyrics in my professional ethics model exam! thats the thing with rahman’s music, when his song is released, u wouldn’t want any other song in your playlist..if one song gets a bit old the other catches up with you..well, he has got a lot more magic to keep us mesmerised in the coming years..congrats to him on his double grammy!!

rahul gandhi gets into a local train in andheri..well, he should, not only him but every other politician and they gotta do it everytime..i dont understand why is it made a big news..afterall he is like each of us, apart from being born in one of the powerful families in the country..but still its a good beginning and this surely must be followed..more than this i liked it when a young student asked him in a gathering, why the hell was he there ( the same words ppl ) and rahul answered it with a smile..maybe he is not bad afterall..( will the kid be still in one piece if he had asked it to our usual politicians? ) hmmm..in a world of liars, the one who says his name right should be the king!!

the biggest news of the weekend was that Liverpool won the merseyside derby..( i really thought somethin else wud be in this place but unfortunately it didn turn up quite well ) way to go reds..proved once again that ” there are only two good teams in merseyside, liverpool and liverpool reserves” YNWA!!

the google controversy!

Yesterday, times now was concentrating bout one news as they usually do..this one made me watch it..it was bout the three versions of google maps showing arunachal pradesh as a part of india for indian users, part of china for chinese and a disputed territory for other countries..the discussion was bout democracy n stuff..they said we have a representative elected from that area in our parliament and all..come on, less than 50% of people voting and we still boast as the biggest democracy in the world..we have a whole lotta people who still think of election as a whole day off..i don wanna talk bout those who think election as a way of minting money..we don care bout em rt?? we just wanna elect some guy and then blame ourselves for the haste decision for few days and forget that.. gettin back to the google news, who gave google the right to show our land as someone else’s ?? that is the right of our politicians.. a google representative claimed they are just showing what the respective nations claim as theirs..this is like the situation in college where two guys see one girl, if u ask one guy’s gang, they ll say the girl likes him, the other ll say him..but if u ask a neutral guy he ll say, the girl is free, anyone can approach thats the situation there..but still google should not take sides with anyone in this, arunachal is still with india, so it should be shown as a part of india all over the world..chinese cant claim a place as theirs just because their army comes to arunachal on a vacation, it will be like US claiming iraq as a part of US, sounds absurd right?? so, what can we do bout this?? analyse and vote next time and stop using google for search..use bing instead. what is bing?? google it!!

I always wanted to see the beach on a night time..was telling my frens bout it too..it never happened until 2 days back. i was talking to my friend madan bout going to beach to see the new “good looking” marina..the next day i got a message from him..beach polama da?? how can i say no to him, i wanted to see the beach too..we started in my bike by evenin 530, him driving ( the first time someone else drove my gladiator for a long distance )..i have driven more than 900 kms and still my first service is pending.. the day turned out to be with events to remember for a long time..the first was walkin in the beach at night..it was kaanum pongal, a local festival when every one will rush to the beach for reasons they themselves dunno i celebrated it their way this time, it was great except for the rush, searched around for why people come to marina so much that particular day, to me it was the same old sand, breeze and couples sitting so close u could hardly notice two people if not for their dress.. when ll they learn bout “privacy and public place”?? then was the dinner at Rathna Cafe, madan gave too much hype bout the sambhar idly there which the hotel really lived upto..everyone should try eating there once..then it was the 1000km mark in my bike ( the run in is over..yay ) which accompanied the first time i paid money to a traffic cop..it was some street before a left..we took it to avoid signal..there was no sign board, only when we entered we noticed a traffic cop standing at the end ( the road was hardly 100 m long ) he got a glimpse of my purse when i took out my driver’s license..no prizes for guessing his next dialog purse la evlo iruku?? cliche..i had few 10rs notes which he took without counting ..wasn’t traffic cops meant to maintain traffic rules?? its like now they wait for people to break rules so that they can get money..why cant he stand in the entry to the road and tell us to take some other turn?? ( nice job guys ) Chennai’s finest.. and for god’s sake keep the sign boards a big bigger and visible.. better add a light to the boards for visibility in the dark..there are lotta lights wasted on movie hoardings..can use that only a suggestion..blaming and talking doesn’t really solve anything..will the real government please stand up??

Ps.. We went to a place near beach buy books for him for this semester, not a drive like a headless chicken..all this happened just like that!
